Mission Partners
What began in 2010 as a mission trip to the Korogocho slum in Nairobi, Kenya, to learn about the work being done there by Pastor Tom Abungu, has grown into a global partnership involving people and churches from all over the United States working to share Christ's love throughout Kenya. Here are just a few of the partners involved in this work:
Victory Christian Centre. Led by Pastor Tom Abungu, this church, orphanage, and school is located in northeastern Nairobi and ministers to people throughout the city. Over 100 orphans currently attend school at the Centre and are provided for through the Connect With a Child sponsorship program.
Connect With a Child. Victory Christian began Connect With a Child as a way to provide for orphans on the streets of Korogocho slum, and it has since grown to include children throughout Nairobi, as well as the rural Siaya district in western Kenya. Over 150 children are currently sponsored through this program and receive food, water, clothing, education, and medical attention.
Hydration2Others. H2O was formed in 2011 by the Robbs family in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, with the goal of drilling wells in rural western Kenya, where the majority of the population lacks access to clean water. As of May 2012, H2O has funded 3 wells which will provide clean water to as many as 3,000 people for the first time.
Celebration Baptist Church. Celebration is located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and partners with Victory Christian Centre through child sponsorship, support of pastors throughout Kenya, discipleship and mentoring of the Kenyan church through short-term teams, and logistical and fundraising support for Victory Christian Centre, Connect With a Child, and Hydration2Others.
Connection Ministries. Based in the Portland, Oregon, area, Connection Ministries provides administrative and logistical support for Victory Christian Centre, Hydration2Others, and Connect With a Child. Connection facilitates the transfer of funds and information between dozens of U.S. churches and individuals and the ministry partners in Kenya.
